Anchovy Mackerel Horse Mackerel Grey Mullet Striped Red Mullet

Mackerel, bluefish, bonito and horse mackerel keep their flavor. Grey mullet and anchovy are at their fattiest. Small bluefish, large bluefish and whiting are easy to find. Striped red mullet and gurnard are caught in abundance. Red mullet, swordfish and common seabream are scarce.

Anchovy Turbot Grey Mullet Striped Red Mullet

Turbot season begins. Striped red mullet appears in abundance. Mackerel, bluefish and bonito begin to lose their fat.

Turbot Grey Mullet Sea Bass Striped Red Mullet

This is the tastiest time for grey mullet, sea bass and turbot. Mackerel has begun to dry into çiroz; it can be pan-fried or made into pilaki. Silverside starts to appear in large numbers.

Turbot Sea Bass Red Mullet Striped Red Mullet

Turbot again takes the lead. Common seabream, sea bass, swordfish and gurnard begin to appear in abundance. Silverside, grey mullet, whiting, hake, striped red mullet and red mullet are caught in great numbers.

Sea Bass Red Mullet

Sea bass, red mullet, striped red mullet and scorpionfish are enjoyed with pleasure.

June

Sea Bass Red Mullet

A lean month for fishing. Striped red mullet, red mullet, common seabream and sea bass can be found, but they are expensive.

Red Mullet Sardine

Sardine season begins. Chub mackerel, horse mackerel and mackerel are well suited to pan-frying and poaching.

Bonito Sardine

The çingene (gypsy) bonito opens its season. This is the tastiest time for sardines. Swordfish is at its most irresistible this month. Grey mullet is not recommended.

Bluefish Bonito Horse Mackerel Sardine

Sardine and swordfish are delicious. Bonito grows larger. Bluefish is expensive in this period.

Bluefish is at its most delicious. Bonito appears in abundance.

The best time for mackerel. The Atlantic bonito run has begun. This is the month plaice is at its finest.

Mackerel, bluefish, bonito and Atlantic bonito have grown even larger and tastier. Anchovy is at its crispiest. Striped red mullet appears in great abundance.
